Dauphin, Treaty 2 Territory – The most prestigious hockey trophy of all and founded right here on turtle island (Canada); the Stanley Cup arrived in Dauphin for a celebration after the Washington Capitals won it in June headed by Coach Barry Trotz, a local boy from Dauphin where he grew up, played hockey and coached his first team Dauphin Jr Kings right here in the heart of Treaty 2 Territory.
Grand Chief Bone from the Treaty 2 Territory and Chief Barry McKay from Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve a First Nation located in the Treaty 2 Territory presented Coach Barry Trotz gifts, a flag and thanked him for bringing home the Stanley Cup to the Treaty 2 Territory. Over 4,000 people came out to see Trotz and Stanley.
