FNiT2T Governance Community Coordinators Orientation
First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory Governance Community Coordinators had its very first meeting and orientation at the Treaty 2 Government Building yesterday February 19, 2019.
The Governance Community Coordinators, proxy’s and Chief LeDoux of Gamber First Nation were given a brief overview of the Treaty 2 structure followed by the 7 Important Documents that form Treaty 2. Then followed the Governance Community Coordinators orientation and updates. Special focus was on Membership Bill S-3 and Constitutional Development.
O-Chi-Chak-Ko-Sipi has their own membership code, (Section 10 while FNiT2T are still under Section 11.). By June 2019, we hope the FNiT2T have their membership code in place. Draft constitutions should also be in place by the end of March 2019. So that in a nutshell is what I have been up to along with the Community Developers.
