Treaty 2 Territory – The Senior Officials of the First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory along with Reeve Clifford Halaburda and Council of the Rural Municipality of Grahamdale met in Moosehorn, located within the Treaty 2 Territory today.
The meeting was for the purpose of working together on land and water issues along with an official presentation of the Treaty 2 Territory flag and map to Reeve Halaburda and the Council of the RM of Grahamdale.
“Mother Earth is being destroyed daily and as stewards of the land, we must protect her and make sure everyone in the territory works with us to do so,” said Chairperson Darren Mousseau of the Land, Water and Resource Council.
FNiT2T Government officials through the LWR Council met today to advance relationships within the territory. As Treaty No. 2 was made for immigration and settlement and for all parties to prosper, advance and protect the territory, today was a great step towards reconciliation, which comes from the honesty and humility from all those involved.
