FNiT2T and Turtle River Watershed Conservation reach working agreement to monitor Walleye this spring

Treaty 2 Territory – First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory (FNiT2T) Government and Turtle River Watershed Conservation District met in Ste. Rose today and agreed to partner up to monitor walleye stocks during this year’s spawning season.

Resource Technicians from the Treaty 2 Territory will be monitoring and collecting data on the walleye during spawning season.

The data collected is expected to assist future fisheries management in the Dauphin Lake Basin.

During this period, the Resource Technicians will be handing out information regarding sustainability and keeping the fishery healthy in Dauphin Lake.
