Treaty 2 Territory – Keeseekoowenin Ojibway First Nation leaders and members have been meeting the past two days regarding the setup of their governance committee and moving forward with their own ‘First Law’ (constitution).
Chief Norman Bone presented the concept the past two days of planning with a solid governance plan through a written First Law (Constitution) and membership code. Keeseekoowenin will be reviewing the governance section in their Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP) completed back in 2013.
FNiT2T continues to support each member nation through the governance support tool kit.
Scott Lynxleg, Community Developer made a presentation on Constitutional Development and TOR for the Governance Committee, following the booklet handed out to the leaders and community members who attended. Also in attendance for support was Boh Kubrakovich – Senior Official, Betty Lynxleg – LLL Secretariat and Centre, Rodman Batson – Director Sports and Recreation, Robert Malcolm – Government Advisor – WRTC.
