Canada Bill C-92 – An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families
Booshzoo good morning niikanis – everyone, just a quick update on Bill C-92 the federal child welfare draft law:
1. The Bill was passed yesterday (Friday 14 June 2019), but, still has to be accepted and proclaimed and because the Bill was amended by the Senate’s standing committee on Aboriginal Peoples, the House must either accept the amendments of the Bill or reject them.
2. If the amendments are rejected, C-92 will be sent back to the Senate, and they’ll only have a week before the House adjourns for the summer. They may run out of time.
