Collective Economic Development, Strategic LLLL Partnerships in Motion

July 12, 2019

Treaty 2 Territory – On Thursday July 11th, 2019, FNT2T Senior staff Ryan Sutherland, Dr. Betty Lynxleg, and Joseph Maud met with Assiniboine Community College (ACC) staff Lorraine Johnson Chairperson – Contract Training, Kate Pelletier Dean of Trades, and Gerald Cathcart Coordinator – Business Development, to further discuss the development of Indigenous Homes Innovation Initiative.

Together, we reviewed and edited our draft proposal preparing it for final submission. We came up with another draft together that we are reviewing individually. We will be having a teleconference in the coming week with Funders to get clarification on project details. Once we get clarification, we will meet to finalized our proposal.

In Partnership, we will be submitting a proposal to access funding to further develop our idea. Once funding is accessed, we will develop a Indigenous Home Building Curriculum.

This Partnership is key to the establishment of the FNT2T Life Long Learning Lodge (LLLL) indigenous carpentry program that will take students from Level I to Red Seal. ACC will assist the institute to embrace the partnership opportunity and is willing to support the LLLL through its development and implementation.
