Chief Barry Mckay and the graduates from A.C.C framing project

Treaty 2 Territory – On Jul 12, 2019 I was in my home community of Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve to attend the graduation ceremony for 9 community members from the Assiniboine Community College Framing 12 week certificate course held in Tootinaowaziibeeng. The participants did in classroom instruction and then completed the framing of 2 housing units in Tootinaowaziibeeng that will be for 2 community families. Leadership gave the students encouragement in completing the course and gaining valuable skills. A great day in Toot !

On Jul 10, 2019 I was in the beautiful community of Dauphin River First Nation to attend a governance meeting with the elders to discuss governance, child and family well-being and life long learning for the community of Dauphin River. Lorie Thompson did a presentation on governance and membership. Dr. Betty Lynxleg discussed life long learning strategies for the members in attendance.
