MMIWG Information Session – July 24, 2019 – Hosted by FNT2T Ikwewak (Women) Council in Dauphin

July 31, 2019

Treaty 2 Territory – Booshzoo, Tansi niikanis (Hello my relations), this event provided space for Indigenous peoples to share their past and ongoing experiences about MMIWGT (Missing and Murdered Women, Girls and Two-Spirited). The 231 recommendations that resulted from the June 2019 MMIWG Inquiry Final Report were presented and discussed. The participants were grateful to be provided a safe space to talk, listen and ask questions. The next information session will take place in Keeseekowenin First Nation so watch for the notice.

The commemorative banner of the women in the red dress will be touring through the FNT2T Nation’s every 28 days and can be decorated more by each Nation with small red dresses, hearts or hands or other items.
