Treaty 2 Territory – Summer a time for activity and baseball with only weeks away until school begins. Two of our Anishinaabe Ikwe will be representing the Treaty 2 territory with the 14 Under Female Provincial Baseball squad heading to Saskatoon 16-18 August 2019 for the Western Canada Baseball Championships.
Aniya Monkman (Lake Manitoba) the daughter of Vanessa Monkman is from the Animooziibing Anishinaabe Nation. She is proud to represent her Nation, she has been playing ball for some time in Winnipeg and has had a busy season with her local team.
Mya Kubrakovich (Pine Creek), the daughter of Boh and Amanda Kubrakovich is from the Minegoziibe Anishinabe. Addition to a busy summer Mya has played for the boys Strilkiwski Peewee Dauphin team who won the Regionals and the Parkland 13 U AAA regional team who recently participated in the provincials last weekend.
