Treaty 2 territory – Our FNT2T government was in the community of Lake Manitoba First Nation on Aug 27 & 28, 2019 for the annual Grand Council Gathering 2019 for Treaty 2. This was the 2nd annual gathering for Treaty 2 government. The community hall was well attended with membership from various First Nations in Treaty 2 area. The annual report and updates from each council was presented to the members for information and questions. Leadership from each community gave their address to the members.
Break out sessions were held to gather information and questions for direction from the people. On the second day, resolutions were presented and passed by the people at the assembly. It was truly a historic day for the people of Treaty 2 in moving forward of developing our own way of living and governing ourselves.
