Treaty 2 Territory – on Thursday August 1st, 2019, FNT2T LLLL, in partnership with Assiniboine Community College (ACC) and Pewapun Construction Ltd, submitted a proposal to Indigenous Homes Innovation Initiative. Together, we reviewed and edited our proposal.
FNiT2T Senior staff met with Jody Linklater representing Indigenous Youth Build, ATEC, and Pewapun Construction Ltd., along with key administrators, program leaders and educators from Assiniboine Community College (ACC) to discuss and brainstorm the innovative idea and development of the proposal.

In Partnership, we have developed what we think is an innovative solution to building homes in our FNiT2T. Once funding is approved, we will develop the Ozhige Construction Curriculum together with Nations and Stakeholders. In Anishinaabe, ozhige means “s/he builds a dwelling/lodge”
This Partnership is key to the establishment of the FNiT2T Life Long Learning Lodge (LLLL) Ozhige Construction program that will take students from Carpentry Level I to Red Seal. ACC will assist the institute to embrace the partnership opportunity and is willing to support the LLLL Ozhige Construction program through its development and implementation.
