The Local Nation Helpers (LNH) and the First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory (FNT2T) Nation Development Circle (NDC) met to reignite their shared goals for creating a local Nation constitution. The LHNs are members of their Nation that work locally with a Governance Committee made up of members to draft their constitution. Some of the Nations maintained their former coordinators, while some Nations hired new people and other Nations are in progress of securing a Local Nation Helper (LNH).

While at the session the LNHs reviewed the history of the Anishinaabe Agowidiiwinan -Treaty 2 and the formation of the First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory (FNT2T). An overview of the workplan for the upcoming 6 months was provided and discussed. FNT2T staff from the various Circles provided an overview of the work they are doing and outlined the support they will need locally to organize meetings. Each LNH were provided with a computer and given a briefing on their FNT2T emails and website blogging.
Communication to the membership is crucial to the development of the constitution. The LNH will be responsible to inform the membership in consistent and active ways. To support the LNHs process for sharing information, the FNT2T is creating a website for each Nation. An overview of the status of the websites that are being created was also provided to the LNHs.
