Chief Cameron Catcheway presented with Anishinabek Headdress

September 27, 2019

Chief Cameron Catcheway of the Skownan First Nation, Treaty 2, was presented with a traditional Anishinaabek headdress by Southern Chiefs Organization (SCO), Grand Chief Jerry Daniels at the West Region Child and Family Services Annual General Meeting on Sept 26, 2019 held at Skownan.

The headdress represents the distinct and ancestral leadership of the Anishinaabek Nation. Elders from Skownan First Nation were instrumental in the gifting ceremony and gave their blessing to the headdress. Chief Cameron was taken back by the tremendous act of kindness by the SCO Grand Chief and accepted the headdress with the Elders from his Nation.
