FNT2T emergency planning for evacuees

October 22, 2019

Treaty 2 Territory – FNT2T staff were in Winnipeg assisting the evacuees from the First Nations affected by the storm that hit Southern Manitoba on Oct 11, 2019. There were thousands of members that were evacuated to Winnipeg, Brandon, Dauphin and other outlining communities. FNT2T staff assisted in data entry, hotel registration, plus any other help needed for the members from each First Nation. Emergency planning for the affected First Nations were put in placed as well as being developed for the future emergencies. FNT2T will continue to support our First Nations members in the time of crisis and help get them home to their communities.
