Treaty 2 Territory – On 24 October 2019 Chief McKay and Elder Catagas met with FNT2T to discuss the current action items within the Sports and Youth Directorate. The next Youth Council will meet in November to discuss moving forward the workplan items.
Current 2019/20 Workplan:
- The fundamental mandate of the Directorate is to develop a community-based program of sports and recreation for all ages of children, youth, adults and seniors;
- Celebration of Nations Event;
- Promotion and preparation for the 2020 Winter Games hosted in Pinaymootang;
- Clinics for players and coaches in preparation for our Winter and Summer games;
- Hockey and Lacrosse programming for our Local Nation Schools launching in 2020;
- Youth Training Facility in Dauphin – Model School and Program;
- Promotion and preparation for the 2021 Summer Games;
