Hockey Night in Treaty 2 Territory in full swing this December

November 4, 2019

Treaty 2 Territory – If you attended last season’s event, you certainly know the celebration of the First Annual Hockey Night in Treaty 2 Territory was second to none. There is entertainment at pregame, during and post-game. The auction made back the dollars spent on the FNT2T official jersey’s and the fans enjoyed the game as the host Dauphin Kings beat the OCN Blizzard 10-1 in front of thousand of fans. Last year’s loud sound of the drum started off the on ice celebrations with the official dropping of the puck by the Council of Chiefs led by Grand Chief Eastman.

Expect that this year will be no different. A day full of scores, entertainment, and excitement. This year’s host Dauphin Kings will welcome the Waywayeecappo Wolverines. The round dance begins at 3PM, with a feast to follow along with a local band opening up the arena entertainment. Square dancing, powwow demonstration and speeches will be done prior to the game as part of the entertainment. The drum will go to centre ice to honour the players, coaches, referees and the fans for their dedication towards their local junior team and sport prior to the official dropping of the puck.

The game is just part of the full night of reconciliation. See you there!
