Treaty 2 Territory – Today the focus was on the main areas of the original 2019/20 RIRSD Protocol workplan and fine tuning the newly passed administration structure. The administration is narrowing its focus to Governance and Constitutional development which includes law development and support to each local Nation.
The Local Nation Helpers will begin their first certification training beginning next week with a full workplan to achieve draft constitutions by March 31, 2019. A very steep hill however with the tweaking of the structure to support such step, the goals set out in this year’s workplan will be achievable.
2019/20 RIRSD Workplan includes:
- Term sheet development and meetings with Canada
- Governance and Constitutional Development
- Support on Governance
- Growing FNT2T – Welcoming new members
- Capacity Building
