November 7, 2019

Dakota and Treaty 1 Territory – The First Nation in Treaty 2 Territory (FNT2T) met with Chief Eric Pashe and Councillor Kyle Pashe Thursday 7 November 2019 in Dakota Tipi to discuss the importance of the 1850 Ojibway-Dakota Alliance.

Discussed during the session was the FNT2T work to date on protecting the territory, taking back the territory and flood protection. Unfinished treaty business in Treaty 2 Territory was discussed along with the direct transfer payment structure for infrastructure, programs and services (IPS) with Canada.

The FNT2T through resolution just launched its Regional Services Offices (Dauphin and Pinaymootang). This will help with Law and Constitutional Development.

It was agreed to host a Local Nation membership meeting that will include presentations from FNT2T and a feast for December. Chief Pashe and his Council support the alliance.
