Nation-Based Sovereign-Based Government

Emergency Managment Plan presentation by Toby Desnomie of Treaty 4 Territory

November 19, 2019

Treaty 2 Territory. November 19, 2019. – Treaty 4 Territory member Toby Desnomie, CEO of Saskatchewan First Nations Safety Association, presented to the FNT2T Staff on Emergency Management. Toby highly recommended any government structure shall be based on the language. Our ancestors developed their wellbeing and livelihoods around the language. When it comes to emergency management, a nation must develop their sovereign laws. Resources are available for nations to utilize. Toby recommended nations include Emergency Management in their capital plans. Through their capital funding, nations could access heavy equipment for their Emergency Management plans.

FNT2T Boh Kubrakovich presented Toby Desnomie, of Treaty 4 Territory, with a sage bundle and official Treaty 2 Territory patch.
Toby Desnomie of Treaty 4 Territory was presented with an official Treaty 2 Territory flag.

Toby went on to mentioning reconciliation and provided a history of Acts & Regulations in Canada, and prior to Canada being a country. Each individual, Indigenous and Non-Indigenous, must be able to begin their own process of reconciliation. Moving forward; our nations must return to the foundation laws our ancestors followed. These laws are the creator laws and will help us in nation building! The FNT2T would like to say “Giche Miigwetch” to Toby Desnomie for his presentation and sharing his knowledge.
