Treaty 2 Territory – Gambler First Nation hosted a membership meeting to their members in Brandon, MB on Tuesday, November 26th, 2019. The meeting started with an opening prayer by Kellie LeDoux, and opening remarks by Chief David LeDoux. The Government of First Nation in Treaty 2 Territory were invited to present to Gambler First Nation members. FNT2T Lead Boh Kubrakovich welcomed all in attendance and provided a background of the FNT2T and direction moving forward. Life Long Learning Lodge Keeper Allen Sutherland did a presentation on “who we are as Anishinaabemowin people” and the history of the Treaties.




Following the lunch break, Natural World Keeper Ron Missyabit did his presentation on what the FTN2T moving forward in the Natural World. Ron shared the importance Anishinaabe people of returning to the land. By returning to the land, Anishinaabe people must reconnect in taking care of mother earth. Boh Kubrakovich presented Chief LeDoux and Council members with FNT2T jackets which illustrated the Gambler First Nation logo after all agenda items were completed. The FNT2T would like to say “Miigwetch” to Chief LeDoux and Gambler First Nation for the invite to their membership meeting.
