Treaty 2 Territory – Local Nation Helpers continued their training on Dec 10 & 11, 2019 in Dauphin at the FNT2T training center. The first day was on the history of Treaties and how our it affected our first nation communities in the areas of governance. There was an evening session held to guide the L.N.H staff in developing their own local community history timeline. This timeline will help each local first nation record local history and how they signed Treaty to the present day. The second day was a presentation by Toby Desnomie of Treaty 4. Toby did a training on occupational health and safety on first nations. The L.N.H also were presented on how government structure works in today’s modern governance system as it relates to first nations in Treaty 2 Territory. There will be more training for the L.N.H local nation helpers in the upcoming months. The next training will be January 2020 and continuing till March 2020.
