Treaty 2 Territory – On Thursday, December 12, 2019 I was in the community of Waywayseecappo First Nation to promote “ Hockey Night in Treaty 2 Territory”. On Saturday December 21, 2019 the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Jr A hockey club will be visiting the Dauphin Kings Jr A team and will take part in the “Hockey Night in Treaty 2 Territory “ game that night. I met with a few members of the Waywayseecappo players and staff at the local arena. They are looking forward to playing in Dauphin and taking part in the game night and ceremonies celebrating sports in the Treaty 2 area. Also part of the celebrations of sport, there will also be a Youth Forum for youth to attend and participate. This is the second “ Hockey Night in Treaty 2 Territory” game night, with plans on making it an annual event.
