2020 Winter Games Committee meeting held in Pinaymootang First Nation

Treaty 2 Territory – Committee members of the 2020 Winter Games held a meeting on Thursday, December 12, 2019 in Pinaymootang First Nation. Pinaymootang will host the Inaugural Winter Games on February 26-29, 2020. The games will be host to 250 athletes, 150 volunteers, and 60 officials from the Treaty 2 Territory. The 250 athletes will be competing through regional teams which will allow for athletes to interact and build friendships with others from different nations within the Treaty 2 Territory in the various sports. Sport events will include Snowshoeing, Badminton, Basketball, and Hockey. Pinaymootang First Nation Councillor Kurvis Anderson says he’s excited to have his community host the 2020 Winter Games, and is looking forward to the First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory hosting a Summer Games.
