Treaty 2 Territory – Youth and Elders from the First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory gathered on Saturday, December 21st at the Credit Union Place in Dauphin, MB. The youth received opening remarks by Boh Kubrakovich and presentations on History by Treaty 5 youth member Wapastim Harper, Sovereign Nations by Toby Desnomie of Treaty 4, Youth Housing Strategy by Jody Linklater of Nisichawayasihk (Nelson House) Cree Nation, Anishinaabe Timeline by Allen Sutherland, Blanket Exercise by Phyllis Racette of Ebb and Flow First Nation, Anishinaabemowin by Ray Mousseau, and the 2020 Winter Games by Lana Racette. Ron Missyabit, MC finished the session with the mention of the building FNT2T has supported for future build in each Local Nation such as; Wellbeing, Wellness (Arena) Centre, Interpretive Centre and Service Centre.
The youth in attendance had many questions and comments on the various presentations and engagement sessions. The FNT2T Knowledge Council was in attendance with the youth.
