Knowledge Keepers present history of Child and Family to Local Nation Helpers

Treaty 2 Territory – The Local Nation Helpers attended training on January 21 & 22, 2020 in Dauphin at the Miikinaak (Turtle) Lodge. The focus of the sessions was on Child and Family services and the history that affected our first nation children. Knowledge keeper Louie Malcolm from Ebb and Flow and Harvey Nepinak from Skownan First Nation addressed the helpers giving them history of child and family in our communities. Stella Bone Executive Director of West Region Child and Family Services Inc and Emma Edwards Executive Director of Anishannabe Child and Family Services gave presentations on each agency and how they are working to develop their own ways of keeping our children in our communities.
