Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP)

January 27, 2020

Treaty 2 Territory – Corporations Keeper Ryan Sutherland, started the discussions after the Executive Council met and approved the process March 2019. The conceptual drawings initiated the discussion and process on April 4, 2019. Work was done though out the summer and he managed to submit the Infrastructure Proposals to ICIP prior to September 8, 2019 and prior to the program closing date(September 19, 2019). Each proposal was submitted as each member Nation being the Proponent of the proposal project. This means project funds will flow directly to each member Nation upon project approval.

Proposals that each Proponent submitted were: (1) Wellness Recreation Center; (2) Wellbeing Center; (3) Treaty Interpretive Center; (4) Nation Service Center. Each project proposal requires a number of mandatory documents that each member Nation must submit for proposals to be considered complete by ICIP under program requirements.

To date, the following member Nations have completed project proposals under ICIP requirements: (1) Dauphin River; (2) Ebb & Flow; (3) Keeseekoowenin; (4) Little Saskatchewan; (5) O-Chi-Chak-Ko-Sipi; (6) Skownan; (7) Tootinaowaziibeeng; (8) Pinaymootang.

As each member Nation is the Proponent of each project proposal, they are responsible for Project Management of Projects.
