Gambler First Nation to participate in Language Sessions and 2020 Winter Games

Treaty 2 Territory – Gambler First Nation is excited to participate in Anishinaabemowin and the 2020 Winter Games hosted by the First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory. Communications Keeper Ray Mousseau, Sports & Recreation Keeper Lana Racette, Local Nation Helper Lisa Ledoux, and Regional Keeper Scott Lynxleg met with leadership and program managers in Gambler First Nation on Monday, January 27th, 2020.

The nation is excited in the revitalization of Anishinaabemowin. Gambler recognizes the history of the Ojibwe language as the first Indigenous language in their nation. Sessions will begin in February and will be open to all community members. Gambler will be sending youth participants to the 2020 Winter Games hosted by Pinaymootang First Nation on February 26 – 29, 2020.
