Treaty 2 Territory – Local Nation helpers continued their training with a presentation by Harvey Nepinak of Skownan First Nation. Harvey is a former chief of Skownan First Nation and has many years in the political field. He spoke to the Local Nation helpers about the history of Skownan First Nation and his experiences of being a leader of his community with the challenges he faced. Harvey also talked about the natural resources and how it was important that the first nations be involved with all decisions concerning the natural resources and development. He encouraged the Local Nation helpers to gather information, history, talk with the elders.
