Treaty 2 Territory – The First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory 2020 Winter Games are held February 26-29, 2020 in Pinaymootang First Nation. The games is the first of it’s kind within the Treaty Territories. 330 Athletes, 150 Volunteers gathered on February 26th, 2020 for the opening ceremonies. Sport events at this years Winter Games include Hockey, Badminton, Snowshoe Racing, and Basketball. The athletes and volunteers in attendance are of the 11 Nations of the First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory. “Uniting Our Nation by Sport.”
Chief Norman Bone of Keeseekoowenin First Nation was in attendance and is very pleased and excited for the youth of the First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory.
