2020 Winter Games Highlights and Closing Ceremony

Treaty 2 Territory – The 2020 Winter Games concluded on Saturday, February 29, 2020 in Pinaymootang First Nation. The winter games were held on Wednesday, February 26th to Saturday, February 29th, 2020. The closing ceremony included an award ceremony, special guest and leadership speeches. The 2020 Winter Games were very successful. The FNT2T would like to acknowledge the leadership, volunteers, cooks, security, FNT2T staff, Local Nation Committee, and athletes for their commitment and dedication to the 2020 Winter Games.

The FNT2T presented the 2020 Winter Games Chairperson Lana Racette, and Co-chairperson Nadine Anderson with a star blanket each in an acknowledgement to their dedication to the games. Chief Woodhouse concluded with a closing speech and congratulated all the athletes, and everyone else involved with the games.

Hockey U17 Category:
1st Place Team White – Jordan Sanderson, Toby Anderson, Ezekiel Woodhouse, Tiara Letandre, Stanley Tait, Chase Houle, Joseph Spence.

2nd Place Team Blue – Seth Stark, Nicole Mclean, Elias Anderson, Todd Paul, Drayson Letandre, Silas Mcgee, Jayden Edwards, Ronald Ducharme, Desmond Mousseau


3rd Place Team Yellow – Anton Anderson, Tianna Letandre, Blaze Swan, Seth Stark, Chase Houle, Jayden Edwards

4th Place Team Red – Kode Murdock, William Woodhouse, Sierra Ross, Jacob Anderson, Shaze Kakewash

The U17 hockey athlete would like to say a special “Miigwetch” to the two goalie who played for all 4 teams: Illy-Anne Anderson and Decklan Shorting.

Basketball & Badminton winners to be announce.
