Grand Chief Eugene Eastman sends prayers amidst COVID-19

Treaty 2 Territory – April 5, 2020, Ochichakkosipi First Nation Chief and FNT2T Grand Chief Eugene Eastman travels to Duck Mountain in the heart of Treaty 2 Territory to send prayers for our people during the COVID-19 virus outbreak. Duck Mountain is a sacred place, and has provided for Indigenous peoples of the Territory over generations. Grand Chief Eastman offered tobacco to the creator and shared his experiences of Duck Mountain. Grand Chief Eastman shared “I came here today with a purpose…to give tobacco for the well being of all of us…my late dad and my late koko always told me this is a special place for our people, it holds life…this is the closet place you’ll get to the creator while we’re here…” Giche Miigwetch Grand Chief Eastman for sending prayers for all of us!
