Dibishkoonide Niniijaanis developing bike trails and park for community

July 3, 2020

Treaty 2 Territory – FNT2T staff were in Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve on Thursday July 2, 2020. Jordan’s Principle’s helper Darcy Beaverbone gave a tour of the new bike path that is being developed for the children to access on bikes or walking trail. The biking trail is an extension of the activity park that has been developed over the past year for the Jordan’s Principle program and the children of the community. There are ziplines, block climbing, rope climbing, tents, walking trails and a beautiful fireplace made for wiener roasts and keeping warm in the fall. There is a theme of being on the land and learning the ways of living of the land. There will be a opening BBQ for the bike trail on July 23, 2020 at the Jordan’s Principle building. Community members are encouraged to attend and walk the trail to see the new sites. FNT2T government would like to congratulate the Jordan’s Principle program and staff for building this beautiful park for the children of Tootinaowaziibeeng.
