Ochichakosipi keeping a tradition going for the youth

July 10, 2020

Treaty 2 Territory – Ochichakosipi and the community of Crane River are keeping the youth involved in sports through the game of fastball, a sport that has been played there for many generations. Councillor Trevor Mcdonald is one of the veteran players who is helping the younger men to carry on this sport. The Crane Bay Knights play in the Dauphin Men’s Fastball League along with other communities like Skownan, Waywayseecappo, and Mallard. Local Nation Helper Tommy Hunter is also helping out the young players learn the game.  The games provide an opportunity for other communities to come together and learn good sportsmanship. Youth sports is important to all youth to be involved and meet other youth from other communities. FNT2T would like to thank all the players, coaches and fans that support the team and wish them the best.
