July 16, 2020

Treaty 2 Territory – FNT2T Regional office – Dauphin and staff were in the Local Nation of Gambler First Nation to meet with chief and council. Circle Keeper Allen Sutherland gave a presentation to leadership on the Government of FNT2T and treaties. Shawn Gurke of the Natural World Circle presented the Climate Change Project to chief and council along with staff and members. A drone demonstration was given to chief and council along with the many uses of the drones. The data collection from the GIS mapping will benefit the communities in many ways. Other items that were discussed include Restorative Justice and peacekeeping for each community. Gambler is in support of this and would like to see our own system of policing and justice. Law and community development was also discussed.

In the near future there will be a cultural center built for members to get together and participate in cultural activities. FNT2T regional office and government continue to support the leadership and members of Gambler in their law and economic development projects.
