Treaty 2 Territory – The primary purpose of the Operations Keeper under the Administration of the First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory (FNT2T) is to organize and oversee the daily operations of all Circles and Regional Offices.
Start Date: Term to March 31, 2021
Location: Government Office – Dauphin
Wage: Dependent on Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Ensures all operations are carried out in an optimistic, appropriate, cost-effective, and safe manner;
- Oversees operational systems, procedures and processes while looking for opportunities of improvement or revision;
- Coordinates, manages and monitors the work of the various departments of the government to ensure they are inline with the workplan;
- Establishes and maintains a professional working relationship with internal and external members within the territory;
- Assists in the development and updating of operating policies and procedures for all sectors of the government;
- Evaluates existing policies, programs and processes to determine their effectiveness and meeting the governments priorities;
- Ensures all employees work in compliance with the operating procedures, policies and procedures;
- Develops and implements a communication strategy for all internal and external communication;
- Conducts regular meetings with operations teams;
- Completes performance reviews and provides performance feedback to employees;
- Travel as required;
- Performs other related duties as assigned
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Operations Keeper must possess the following skills and attributes:
- Post Secondary degree in program management, project management, business or public administration, or a relevant combination of education and experience;
- Several years of supervisory experience;
- Experience in policy analysis, evaluation and development;
- Knowledge of current events, political factors and issues of the day affecting FNiT2T;
- Excellent analytical skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to express ideas, negotiate and communicate effectively; and the ability to analyze critically and suggest an appropriate means of action;
- Proven exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work as a team player to effectively interact with elected officials, staff, media, service providers, and government agencies;
- Highly motivated and ability to work in demanding and fast‐paced work environment.
- Exceptional organizational and time‐management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines;
- Self‐motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Knowledge of Anishinaabe language and understanding of culture and tradition an asset;
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and own vehicle;
- Maintain confidentiality with a high level of accuracy regarding information
