Treaty 2 Territory – Government of FNT2T has passed a Treasury and Administration Law that provides the foundation for the Government of FNT2T to negotiate and enter into International Bilateral Agreements with other Nations or Countries. This provides a solid foundation that support the Treasury and Administration Financial Processes and Procedures that the FNT2T Treasury and Administration enact. These regulations will establish effective coordination of administrative functions to manage FNT2T financial affairs, Trusts and Infrastructure, Programs, and Services (IPSs).
Treasury and Administration Law establishes the FNT2T Treasury and Administration Circle that consist of the Treasury Keeper and Treasury Administration. The Law defines the Roles and Responsibilities of the Keepers and Helpers relating to planning, management, and accountability of Administration, Finance, and Human Resource (HR) Management. The Law identifies matters that the Treasury and Administration may act on for FNT2T. The Law identifies regulations that the Treasury and Administration may make, and responsibilities in areas such as administrative functions, financial management functions, HR management functions.
The Treasury and Administration Law governs the treasury and administrative accountability of the Government of FNT2T. The purpose of this Law is providing a fiscal foundation for FNT2T Treasury to establish, develop, manage, and evaluate the financial affairs of FNT2T and the conduct of the Trust and Treasury for FNT2T Local Nations.
The Grand Council reviews the business, deliberate laws, set direction, and ratify decisions on behalf of Treaty 2 Territory. The Governing Council reports to the Grand Council annually and oversees and is responsible for the Governance of the Treasury and Administration Circle to manage the financial and administrative affairs of the Government of FNT2T. The Treasury and Administration Circle will ensure that the Financial Treasury Processes and Procedures are conducted under the Principles of Anishinaabe Mino Bimaadiziwin Anishinaabemowin.
