Dibishkoo Nide Niniijaanis program building ice skating opportunity for youth of Tootinaowaziibeeng

February 19, 2021

Treaty 2 Territory – The children and members of Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve can soon enjoy a family skate on the completion of an outdoor skating ice surface sponsored and built by the staff of the Dibishkoo Nide Niniijaanis program (Jordan’s Principle). With the support of the Health Program, the outdoor skating surface should be completed by the end of February at the latest. This will give the youth and families an opportunity to get outside and exercise with the forecast of warmer weather.

This is another project of the Jordan’s Principle program, last year a walking/biking trail was completed for the members of Tootinaowaziibeeng to access and use for outdoor enjoyment. Along with the biking trail is also a land based learning activity park that is used for traditional play and teachings. FNT2T government would like to congratulate the staff of the Dibishkoo Nide Niniijaanis Program for all the positive projects and initiatives put on for the children of Tootinaowaziibeeng.
