Young hockey player chasing hockey dream in Treaty 2 Territory

March 3, 2021

Treaty 2 Territory – This week I had a chance to talk with Hayden Lacquette, he was out skating with his friends enjoying his favorite sport hockey. Hayden is a 17year old hockey player from the community of Mallard with family ties to Keeseekoowenin Ojibway Nation. Hayden just completed a shorten season with the Parkland Rangers in Dauphin, Mb. This fall Hayden will be lacing them up with the Dauphin Kings of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. He will be a local grown hockey player who is a great skater and loves to play all kinds of sports, especially hockey.

Hayden is also a gifted fastball pitcher, who pitches for his home team of Mallard Stars in the Dauphin Men’s Fastball League. Hayden is one of many young athletes in the treaty 2 territory who have the skills to make it all the way in their chosen sport. Look for Hayden this fall as he and the Dauphin Kings vie for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League title this year. Please join FNT2T in supporting our young athletes and their journey in sports.
