FNT2T Regional offices participates in virtual pow wow and building positive relationships in schools

Treaty 2 Territory – Regional Offices Dauphin participated in the annual Mountain School Division Pow wow hosted by the Whitmore School in Dauphin Mb on Thursday March 24, 2021. Due to Covid the pow wow this year is virtual and will be online for people to view. Pow wow dancing was performed as part of the virtual event. Whitmore School Principal Lesia Jensen gave a tour of the school with activity programs and practises of the original peoples of this area. Whitmore School has the highest number of first nation children in their school. Principal Jensen showcased how the school wants to be inclusive and respectful of all nations and beliefs with an emphasis on the first nations customs and traditions. FNT2T would like to thank the Mountain School Division and Whitmore School for organizing and bringing awareness of the anishanabe people in the treat 2 territory.
