Child Family Nation and Peacekeeping Circle organizing for nation engagement

April 9, 2021

Treaty 2 Territory – The Child and Family Nation engagement team, along with the Peacekeeping Circle met at the FNT2T sub office in Swan Lake First Nation. The main topic of discussion was engagement in local nations. The CFN circle is setting up engagement sessions in each nation to gather input from local nation members on developing their own laws in keeping our children home in each local nation. Along with the CFN circle engagement, the Peacekeeping Circle will also be engaging the members in developing their own Peacekeeping system to replace the colonial justice system, which is not working for the first nation people, with the highest rate of incarceration.

All members are encouraged to come out and participate. There will be opportunities for all members to attend or give their input in the child law development and Peacekeeping. There will be upcoming posters and notifications of these sessions and with Covid 19 protocols in place to provide security and safety to those attending the sessions. The first engagement session is tentatively set for Ebb and Flow Nation. Please look for upcoming posters and notifications.
