FNT2T Women’s Council meet to discuss Child and Family Nation law development

Treaty 2 Territory – On Wednesday April 07,2021, Ebb and Flow Nation hosted the FNT2T Women’s Council at the Government Building in Dauphin, Mb. Agenda items discussed were Health and Well Being, Peacekeeping, and Children and Family Nation. There were representatives from Keeseekoowenin, Gambler, Lake St Martin, Tootinaowaziibeeng, Pinaymootang, and Dauphin River. Child and Family Nation was a major discussion item as children in care with the CFS system continues to rise.

The FNT2T Women’s Council review law development and give input to the development of each local nation’s childcare system. The council also discussed the development of well being centres in each of the local nations to provide wellness programs and services for all members to access for all types of help and healing. The FNT2T Women’s Council meets once a month to discuss various issues in the territory. The next scheduled meeting is Wednesday April 28, 2021.
