Treaty 2 Territory – FNT2T government circles met with the leadership of Little Saskatchewan First Nation at the Dauphin Government office to give an update to the leadership in each circle. All circle keepers gave an update to the leadership on what is going on in their circle. Circle updates were given from Lifelong Learning, Earth Lodge, Peacekeeping, Natural World, Canada Table and Children and Families Nation. The leadership asked many questions on law development and engagement. Leadership informed FNT2T that we need to develop our own local nation laws with member involvement. FNT2T circles will be starting to engage in each nation on law development in the areas of Children and Families Nation and Peacemaking Circle.
These engagement sessions will be in the local nations for member input. There will be more than one engagement session to get more input from the members when developing the laws. Covid safety protocols will be in place to provide safety to all who attend the engagement sessions. Please look for upcoming notifications of the upcoming engagement sessions in each local nation. FNT2T will continue to work with Little Saskatchewan and the members moving forward in law development.
