Treaty 2 Territory – Children, Families and Nation would like to be able to express their gratitude to the Women’s Council for being a “voice” through ongoing advocacy for our children, youth, and families. The role of women in the protection of children, families and communities is central to the well-being of our Nation. Also, to the Knowledge Council whom we met with and presented this past week for being the leaders in teaching us, traditional knowledge keeping, traditional knowledge sharing, decision making and advocacy in the care of children and families. These are pivotal steps to advancing change for our First Nations in the Treaty 2 Territory.
The CFN team will begin engagement sessions, regarding the Children, Families and Nation Draft Law Development. We recognize that it is of utmost importance to capture feedback from the members of each Local Nation. Keep an eye out for Posters on when a session will take place in your home Nation.
We look forward to engaging with you in the very near future.
CFN Team, Lois, John, Desiree, Savannah, and Dakota.
