Treaty 2 Territory – FNT2T Children, Families and Nation/Peacemaking engagement team met Wednesday April 21, 2021 to finalize engagement plans for each nation on member input into local law development for Children and families and Peacemaking. The development of a peacekeeping system to replace the western colonial system which has not worked for all indigenous peoples in Manitoba and Canada is important in keeping our members out of prison or jail.
Due to recent rise in the Covid 19 cases and variants in the territory, online engagement will be a part of the engagement strategy in getting the nation members to participate and give their input to the law development. With Covid 19 protocols in place, there will be engagement sessions in some nations. There will be engagement sessions for members not living in the nation to also participate. This will give the members in the nation a chance to engage in person, with the safety of everyone at the session. With the combination of online engagement and in person engagement, FNT2T nation members will have the opportunity to give their input and participation. The first engagement session is set for Wednesday, April 28,2021 at the Ebb Flow community hall, starting at 10 am.
Please look for notifications and posters of online and in person engagement sessions in your nation. FNT2T looks forward to engaging and working with all members in the FNT2T nations.
