Making Maple Syrup – With Knowledge Keeper – Louis Malcolm

May 12, 2021

Treaty 2 Territory – During a beautiful afternoon last month,  our Care and Protection of the Natural World Circle packed up and headed to Horse Bluff, Manitoba here in our beautiful territory.  There, Keeper Ron Missyabit, and Helper Shawn Gurke were welcomed to the homestead of Bernice and  Louis Malcolm.

They spent 8 hours learning from Louis; about the process of collecting and processing Maple Sap into syrup.
We documented our visit and Louis’ immeasurable knowledge using video cameras.

Please take a moment to check out this informative documentary below. Many thanks to Louis for sharing his knowledge with us and to his lovely partner Bernice for being such a gracious host!

Keep an eye on this blog for future documentary style programing as Care and Protection of the Natural World Circle works to preserve the wisdom of our Knowledge Keepers.

If you know of an activity that should be documented or a Knowledge Holder that would be willing to work with us please let us know. Miigwech
