Children, Families and Nation Continue to Facilitate Engagements

July 9, 2021

Treaty 2 Territory – The CFN team will continue to facilitate engagements through small focus groups and knowledge keeper interviews during the months of July & August.

The Mino Ombigii’aa Law shall undergo one final legal review with Peacemaking review panel before presentation to the Governing Council. It is envisioned that this will be a grass roots approach.

The CFN team is looking at policies and procedures which will be consistent with the law, with Mino Ombigii’aa being the central consideration in the making of decisions on behalf of children so they can flourish within relationships and environments that provide nurturing, safety, love, and hope.

A circle model has been carefully developed and will be reviewed with Knowledge Keepers which will involve the Anishinaabe clan systems and roles and will give witness to a balanced approach.

Throughout our work, we continue to re-evaluate and be mindful of who we are creating this for…..the children.
