FNT2T Congratulate Pinaymootang’s Cindy Woodhouse becoming AFN Regional Chief

Treaty 2 Territory – The Government of First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory Congratulate newly-elected AFN Regional Chief, Cindy Woodhouse.
Regional Chief Woodhouse, a member of Pinaymootang First Nation in Treaty 2 Territory was elected at the AMC Annual General Assembly in Long Plain First Nation, in Treaty One Territory.
Having spent the last six years working as an intergovernmental affairs adviser at the AFN in Ottawa, we are thrilled to have Regional Chief Woodhouse represent the Anishinaabe of Treaty 2 Territory and all Nations in our province. Congratulations Chief Woodhouse! Your exciting win comes after a strong campaign and we are so very proud of you!!
Also celebrating a victory during the Assembly in Long Plains First Nation, was Grand Chief Arlen Dumas. Our Government of First Nations in Treaty 2 Territory congratulate Grand Chief Dumas on his reelection of Grand Chief of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs,
Following the Assembly, FNT2T Grand Chief Eugene Eastman shared “Strategic alliance with these advocates will be extremely important and will be utilized to pave the way for our sovereign independent nation, Territory and government”.
Also present at the Assembly was Keeseekoowenin Chief Norman Bone. “Our treaties with other nations and governments are important to us and we will advance knowing we have alliances with these advocates”. Said Chief Bone.
Following the election announcements, Grand Chief Eastman, and Chief Bone presented newly elected AFN Regional Chief Cindy Woodhouse with a Treaty 2 Beaded Medallion and Flag as she starts her journey; a symbol of home. AMC Grand Chief Dumas was also presented with a Beaded Treaty 2 Medallion, and flag as a gift of alliance, and friendship with our Territory.
