July 15, 2021

Treaty 2 Territory – On Wednesday July 14, 2021, Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve and the Rural Municipality of Dauphin signed a Municipal Service agreement, opening the way for economic development for the members of Tootinaowaziibeeng.  The ceremony was attended by Chief Barry Mckay and knowledge keepers from Tootinaowaziibeeng, along with officials from the Municipality. The two acre lot situated kitty corner to the John Deere dealership in Dauphin was purchased years ago by Tootinaowaziibeeng. Plans for the economic venture include gas bar, VLTs, and convenience store.  With the agreement in place, the development of the site will begin shortly.

This is one of the economic development projects that Tootinaowaziibeeng has been planning for the nation and its members. The FNT2T government would like to congratulate the nation of Tootinaowaziibeeng on this historic signing for Tootinaowaziibeeng and all the members.
