Treaty 2 Territory – Skownan First Nation hosted the FNT2T Women’s Council virtually on Tuesday July 20, 2021. Representatives from the nations of Keeseekoowenin, Lake St. Martin, Ochichakosipi, Skownan, Pinaymootang, Gambler, Little Saskatchewan, Tootinaowaziibeeng and West Region Child and Family Services. Knowledge Keeper Florence Wood gave the opening prayer for the meeting. Agenda items included:

FNT2T Communications Keeper Marlene Davis updated the council on the up coming of the 150th year of the making of Treaty 2. This event will take place in Ebb Flow at Eagle Island, with week long activities planned for all who attend. This event runs from August 16-21, 2021. FNT2T Peacemaking Circle Keeper Chantell Barker gave the council the latest developments on the Peacemaking law and the structure of the peacemaking model. There was much discussion on this subject. The next scheduled meeting is set for Jul 28,2021. FNT2T government will be in the nations, to inform and present on the history and FNT2T government, during the treaty events planned in each nation.
